Newsletter March CRR24

Another month has passed and it’s time for another newsletter!

This month our team jackets arrived. During March, the KAU-dagarna event took place. We had the pleasure of showing our car and talking about the project to students at the university and visiting high school students. We have also handed in two big documents for competition, the Structural Equivalency Spreadsheet and the Electrical System Form. We are getting closer to the summer and competition!

Aerodynamics

The Aerodynamic group has continued with manufacturing parts of the aerodynamic package and has started to assemble the different components together. We have also started to assemble and glue together the carbon fibre rods which will be used to mount different parts to the car.

Chassis

This month, the chassis group has been intensively engaged in completing the structural equivalency spreadsheet, aiming to meet the deadline set in March. Alongside this task, we’ve conducted several physical tests on our impact attenuator, in line with the deadline for submitting the impact attenuator data report within the same month. The workshop has been buzzing with activity, as machines worked tirelessly to manufacture parts for the chassis. We are on the verge of finishing the welding process for the chassis, marking a significant milestone that paves the way for the assembly phase of the car to commence.

Drivetrain & Electronics

This past month, the group has been hard at work with the Electrical Systems Form (ESF), a comprehensive description of the electrical design for competition. We have also worked hard with high voltage circuit boards and are making good progress there. Soon we will start to put all parts together and get the car working!

Suspension & Maneuvering

We have continued to manufacture our parts and will soon be able to assemble our different systems. We are looking forward to seeing all our manufactured, bought and sponsored pieces coming together.

Marketing & Finance

Business & Finance has finalised the BPPN idea and begun calculating various costs and aspects within the concept as we prepare for our presentation to the judges. Additionally, we’ve made progress with the CEF, which is starting to take shape in its initial draft. There has also been extensive preparation for the upcoming release, with various tasks being tackled, such as organising logistics and bookings. In Marketing & PR we have continued to create content for our social media, keeping sponsors and other people of interest updated on our progress and the team. We have done a lot of filming, both for the release video but also for future content, so stay tuned! We are also coordinating a visit to a high school in Karlstad next month to show our car and the project to students and perhaps future Clear River Racing members!

We’ll see you again next month with an exciting announcement!
